Fact Checked: Akufo-Addo Has Fulfilled 80% Of NPP Campaign Promises – NPP Spain Branch (Completely F

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch in Spain has stated that President Akufo- Addo has fulfilled 80% of the promises made in the 2016 manifesto of the NPP.

According to a statement released by Lamptey J.N, Interim General Secretary of the NPP Spain branch, NPP 10 months after they took power have fulfilled 80% of their promises. “The various interventions and policies being executed by the Akufo-Addo-led NPP administration, within this short period of 10-months and can confidently conclude that Nana has so far fulfilled 80% of all his campaign promises made during the 2016 Electioneering season” he claimed.

Fact Checking His Claims

The New Patriotic Party in its 2016 Manifesto and during the 2016 elections made between 353 and 400 promises. As at mid-November, 2017, the ghelection.com promises tracker showed that between 50 and 130 promises had been fully filled. Majority of the promises are in the progress of getting fulfilled while a few have been broken.

The NPP Spain group also based their assessment on targets set in the 2018 budgets positing it to mean the targets as long as they have been set would be actualized. This is also false, because budgets are projections into what Government will do and not what has actually been achieved as the group sort to portray.
